Johnson Motorsports, professional competitive rock crawling team located in Las Vegas, Nevada, announced
October 29th the acquisition of Campbell Enterprises’ Pro Modified competition rockcrawler for the upcoming 2008
World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series (W.E. ROCK) western division. The one-year-old vehicle,
formerly piloted by W.E. ROCK Western Series Competitor Terry Dagen of Campbell Enterprises, will replace
the four-seat buggy used by Johnson Motorsports in the 2007 season.
Driver Nicole Johnson and husband/spotter Frank Johnson debuted the newly acquired vehicle at the 2007
SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada last week. The buggy was located at the Pro Comp Tires display at the
Truck Trend Proving Grounds, a miniature rock crawling course constructed just outside the Tire and Wheels
Building. The 2,600 lb crawler sports a turbo-charged 300 HP Ecotec motor from Turn Key Engine Supply, a
Hughes Performance two-speed Powerglide racing transmission, Currie Rock Jock 60's, an Atlas 5.0 transfer
case, dual ARB air lockers, and 37” Pro Comp Tires Super Sticky Xterrain tires on Pro Comp Alloy CORR
racing wheels.
“We are so excited about this new vehicle,” said Nicole Johnson. “We’ve watched this vehicle compete and
feel it has some of the most innovative ideas incorporated into its design.” Respected vehicle builder
and champion rockcrawler Shannon Campbell is known for cutting-edge design and has proven this vehicle’s
competition worthiness consistently throughout the 2007 W.E. ROCK season.
“Nicole was ‘getting her feet wet’ in 2007 and really pushed our four-seat family trail rig to its limits
this year,” commented Frank Johnson, who spotted for the RedBull Rockcrawling Team for 5 years before
starting Johnson Motorsports. “We acquired this vehicle because we’ve been impressed with its abilities
and feel it will keep us competitive.” The Pro Modified class has been growing steadily, and is now the
largest class represented at W.E. ROCK competitions.
