Wind and Rocks Collide at W.E.ROCK Ballistic Fabrication Pro National Competition

Dayton at Night proved to be a HIT, Both to Spectators and Rolls
PLACERVILLE, CA June 28th, 2010: The Maxxis W.E.Rock Eastern US National Series second stop landed in Dayton, Tennesse where fans and teams
alike enjoyed the rocks under the lights. Carl "NutMan" Shortridge of Trail-Gear and Mad Matz won Unlimited, Mike Cole won in Pro Modified,
Jake Good of Rubber Belly Racing won in Modified Stock and David Wine won in Formula Toy.
“The Fans at Dayton are amazing. They wll sit though the harshest weather just to watch the best teams in the world compete on their stage,"
stated Course Designer Lil' Rich. Saturday's event was delayed until 7pm due to heat advisories, and Sunday had an hour rain delay while
the event site was poured on by the hands above. Regardless, Fans and teams stuck it out to watch one of the best shows that W.E.ROCK
has had to date.
The Unlimited Class was taken over by last years winner at Rausch and Eastern Pro Nationals Champion Carl "Nut Man" Shortridge and Spotter
Mike Fox. Although the points battle was close, the duo ran near perfect every course and made it difficult for others to pass. The Trail-Gear
and Mad Matz Sponsored team took their Second win of the season. Rounding out the top three was Second Place Bill Barton and third place Brian
Milsap.
In Pro Modified, the win came from seasoned vet Mike Cole with his first win in the W.E.ROCK Series in quite a few years. Second place was taken
by Maxxis Driver Ken Blume with fellow Maxxis Driver Mike Thompson in Third Place. Season Points follow only those that are registered for Season
Points. Therefore, Cole, Rorher, and Gilstrap will not be points spoilers. Season points went to Leader Ken Blume, 2nd place Mike Thompson,
and third place Ron Lind of Team Quadratech.
The Modified Stock over the last 3 years has been held down fiercly by 3 time All-Stock Nationals Champion Kurt Shramovich of Team Quadratech.
The drama? Kurt has always had competition, usually from the W.E.ROCK Pro Teams, but this year, one team to give Kurt a run for his money is
Jake Good of Rubberbelly Racing. Good, a regional Rock Crawler in the RROCK series jumped up to the Pro Ranks for 2010 and has taken the
Modified Stock Class by storm with two wins right out of the gate. Shramovich took a very close second place while John Terhune rounded
out the top three.
The Formula Toy Class was won again by David Wine, But every event Marc Zaboth get's closer and closer to the top honors. Zaboth outscored
Wine by huge margins on 3 of the 8 courses, but the point out on course C3 on the second day sealed Wine's Win.
The next event in the W.E.Rock Western Series will be held in Hannibal, Mo on July 24th-25th, 2010. Come watch as the best will battle on some
of the most difficult courses built to date...
